About Me: What makes you YOU? The Diversity Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Committee is inviting students to share something about themselves to the broader student community for an upcoming "About Me' segment of the Bobcat News. Have you ever wanted to share something about your culture, heritage, holiday, disability, lifestyle or way of life? If so, we'd like to hear! Just submit what it is you'd like to share via email and a representative from the DEI committee will get back to you shortly!

Bulletin Board: The DEI committee has a bulletin board on the 2nd floor of the media center. The purpose of this bulletin board is to educate the student body, celebrate the diverse population of our community and to create an inclusive environment for all of our students. The PTA is looking for excited volunteers (staff, parents, and students welcome) to design the board. Some themes this year have been Hispainc Heritage month, and Diwali. Please see this sheet for bulletin board ideas and to sign up. Note- the monthly ideas are suggestions, we welcome all thoughts at deibmms@gmail.com

The PTA would like to congratulate the following students who have been selected as finalists to represent BMMS at the PTA Reflections competition: Hanniel Nissi Kouadio, Rosaline Kurish, and Sahil Prasad. Thank you to everyone who participated!

Long Sleeve Spirit Wear - Available for immediate delivery!

Available in Charcoal Gray and Navy Blue for $19.99 just in time for cold weather and gift giving. Place your order online or purchase at the BMMS winter music performances this week.  While supplies last!

BMMS Administration needs our help - The pandemic has resulted in many changes at school.  One of them is free cafeteria meals and another has been a labor shortage. BMMS administration is in need of parent volunteers at lunch time to count the number of students that partake in free cafeteria lunch. This count is required by the federal government as part of the grant to fund free lunches. Please see the sign up for available dates and times. It is a great way of seeing the socialization of your child while helping out the school. (Please note: HCPSS policy requires in-school volunteers sign up via the link below and provide proof of COVID vaccination by registering in Pinpoint at least 5 days before the event. Additional information about HCPSS volunteer requirements can be found here).

Amazon Smile - Have you started your holiday shopping yet? Whenever you do, please consider shopping through AmazonSmile and selecting Burleigh Manor Middle School as your charitable organization. When you shop with Amazon and Amazon Prime, you will need to shop through the Amazon Smile website – which is exactly the same as the Amazon site – and we will earn a percentage of what you spend! The best part is family and friends all over the world can also sign up to help our school when they do their holiday shopping on AmazonSmile! Shop from the comfort of your couch AND help BMMS - win win!!! To sign up - hover over Your Accounts and List on the top menu bar. Select Amazon Smile option and Search for Burleigh Manor Middle School as the charity. Thank you!

Thank you to Christine Fritz for organizing the Staff Appreciation holiday cookie boxes.

Community Events:

This is the last week to help - Each year, before winter break, Homewood has a Treasure Sale. All students will use their grades to "purchase" presents for loved ones and have them gift wrapped. Due to Covid, all items for this year's Treasure Sale must be either new or re-gifted items. To make things easier, we have created an Amazon Wish List For more information, contact Suzi Young.
