Dear 8th-grade parents,
We are so excited to celebrate the conclusion of a successful three years of Middle School with you! Spring is here, even if the weather doesn't agree, and the last month of school will be here soon. This time can be bittersweet for many; some students can experience reservations about the upcoming transition to high school, and goodbyes to teachers and friends who are going to other schools can be tough. Please let us know if there is anything we can do to help your child make this transition smoothly! We're confident they are ready and will thrive over the next four years at high school.
We have spoken with our 8th-grade class about our expectations for their behavior and conduct as students, leaders, and citizens of Burleigh. We're proud of the maturity, kindness, acceptance, and positive leadership they are demonstrating this year! As we move through the next few months, we ask you to help us keep them focused on their learning and on maintaining this maturity and modeling positive behavior and conduct. We want to make sure each and every one of our 8th-grade students finishes strong and is able to participate in all of the end-of-year activities we have planned for them.
Currently, the last day of school is set for Friday, June 21st. We have decided to schedule the dates for the 8th-grade end-of-year events based on this date. Even if there are changes to the schedule for the end of the school year, we will not be adjusting these dates.
Students will be receiving details about the events (including cost and permission slips for the picnic) in May.
Please call or email with any questions, and thank you for your support!
