As an educator and principal, I truly believe all students have the ability to learn and grow. It is my goal to create a learning environment that is equitable for all students. The classroom environment should provide students with the opportunity to take risk, challenged them to explore the curriculum, and make connections between the content and real world. I believe this can only happen when you create a culture of learning where students feel safe, valued, respected and supported. I also believe teachers must understand the diverse needs of students and customize their lessons and instruction to support student learning styles. Professional Experience: • Teaching experience spans 20 years, which included 12 years of teaching secondary science courses, at all levels to diverse students. • Spent 6 years writing curriculum and designing assessment for Baltimore County Public Schools. • Leadership experience spans over 14 years, which includes 6 years as Science Department Chairperson and 9 years as an Assistant Principal. • Transferred to Howard County Public Schools in 2015-2016, served as Assistant Principal at Centennial High School for 1 year. • Promoted to Principal of Burleigh Manor Middle School on June 16, 2016. I am so excited and honor to be Principal of Burleigh Manor Middle School.  I am thrilled to be a part of the community and am looking forward to building positive relationships with all stakeholders.

I am thrilled to become part of the team at Burleigh Manor Middle School. Before coming to Burleigh, I worked as a leadership intern at Elkridge Landing Middle School, and taught eighth grade English at Patapsco Middle School. I have also taught special education in Queen Anne's county and New York. I am looking forward to the new school year and working with the students, staff, and parents of the Burleigh Manor community.
