8th Grade Picnic FAQs

Monday - June 6, 2016

What should I wear on the day of the picnic?

You should dress in picnic attire – comfortable clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty. Check the weather reports and be prepared with a hat, sunscreen, a towel, sunglasses, etc.

Will sports equipment be provided?

No! You will need to bring your own sports equipment. Please be careful with lacrosse balls, soccer balls, and any other sports equipment that can cause harm to another individual. Due to injuries that have occurred in the past, NO baseball playing will be allowed. You may want to consider kickball or wiffleball as an alternative.

What else can I do at the picnic?

Students often bring cards, Frisbees, and board games to the park. There will be a DJ after lunch, and you may bring a device for playing music. Any music or videos played must be appropriate for school.

Is there anything else I should bring?

Bring plenty of water or Gatorade.  It is very important to hydrate! You may also bring snacks, but you may not eat them while in the school building. Lunch will be served around 11:30.

Do I need to bring my daily medication?

No, you do not need to bring your daily medications. The health aide will give your teachers all the necessary medications.

Can I bring my phone or a camera?

Yes, you may bring your camera or cell phone. You must follow the HCPSS policy on cell phone use – this means nothing is posted on social media!

Don’t forget to LABEL everything that you bring. You are responsible for the security of these items. The school/staff is not responsible for any lost or stolen items.
